PATHWAYS
Umpires
Altona Netball Association is committed to supporting umpires at every stage of their journey, working closely with Netball Victoria to provide access to a wide range of development opportunities. Whether just starting out or aiming for higher accreditation, umpires are supported by a strong network within both Altona and the broader netball community.
A variety of courses and programs are available to guide progression from beginner level through to achieving an AA accreditation, the highest umpiring badge in Australia, helping officials build confidence, skills, and experience along the way.

Umpire Expectations
At Altona Netball Association, umpires are expected to demonstrate respect, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of their involvement in the game - whether officiating, playing, coaching, or supporting from the sidelines. As a representative of Altona, each umpire plays an important role in upholding the values of the association and contributing to a positive netball environment.
We aim to create an enjoyable and supportive umpiring experience, where individuals feel encouraged to grow in confidence and commitment. Emphasis is placed on presenting well, performing to the best of your ability, and taking pride in your role. Umpires are supported throughout their journey, with clear opportunities to develop from beginner level through to achieving official badging.
